A 36-year old woman complained of sudden decrease in visual acuity for 7 days in her left eye. Her visual acuity was counting finger at 3 meters in the left eye and 10/10 in the right eye. Biomicroscopic fundus examination and fluorescein angiography revealed a optic pit maculopathy in her left eye. Optical coherence tomography defined a separation between the inner and outer layers of the retina. A serous macular detachment on the center of the fovea was also present. The follow-up of the patient showed that both retinoschisis and serous macular detachment were regressed by the time. At 6-month followup, optical coherence tomograhy showed that serous macular detachment and intraretinal schisis cavity were disappeared. Visual acuity in her left eye was increased to 1/10. This study documented the optical coherence tomography findings of the spontaneous resolution of the optic pit maculopathy.
