Fırat Üniv. Tıp Fak. Göz Hast AD. In this study, blood flow velocities of central retinal artery and vein of 18 patients with retinal vein occlusion were investigatid during the early stage of the disease by color Doppler ultrasonography. It was observed that blood flow velocities of central retinal artery and vein decreased significantly in all of the subjects. Decrease in venous flow velocities was thought to be the result of stagnation or decrease in the blood returning to the central retinal vein while the decrease in arterial flow velocities was interpreted as the venous occlusion causing resistance in front of the arterial blood flow. Keywords : Color Doppler Ultrasonography, Retinal Vein Occlusion
