²M.D. Zekai Tahir Burak Women?s Health Education and Research Hospital, Neonatal Clinic, Ankara/TURKEY It was declared that platelets had a role on the prevention of VEGF related neovascularization and thrombocytopenia had related with the increased risk of severe retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).1 Data from 4 eyes of 2 premature infants with Type 1 ROP were presented in this article. The platelet volume of the infants were found low in the preoperative examinations and spontaneous recovery of ROP was seen after the regulation of thrombocytopenia.
