ACUTE POSTERIOR MULTIFOCAL PLACOID PIGMENT EPITHELIOPATY

Ondokuz Mayıs Ü.Tıp Fak.Göz Hst. ABD. Purpose: Assessment of patients with acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE).
Methods: We evaluated 2 patients with APMPPE followed-up in our uvea department.
Results: All the patients were female. The ages of patients were 34 and 40 years. Both patients were involved unilaterally. There were cream coloured plaquelike lesions in macular in both patients and in one patient, the lesions were associated with neuroretinitis. Visal acuities, in both of the patients were counting fingers. The lesions were recovered between 2-3 weeks, and pigmented atrophic. lesions remained in macula of patients. Visual acuities were increased between 0.5 and 0.8.
Conclusion: APMPPE is a rare posterior uveitis that involves the macula but visual acuity recover well levels.
