A 14-year-old patient that presented with visual loss in her left eye was evaluated. Visual acuity of her left eye was 0.9. The fundus examination revealed increased retinal artery tortuosity, marked congestion of retinal veins, and flame-shaped hemorrhages. Further laboratory evaluation yielded C677T methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase mutation. Thrombophilic risk factors should be assessed in children with venous stasis retinopathy. Keywords : Retinal vein occlusion, C677T methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase mutation
