Ocular Ischemic Syndrome

Ocular ischemic syndrome is characterized by ocular signs and symptoms usually secondary to the stenosis or obstruction of carotid arterial system. Because of its rare nature and different clinical presentation it may be diffucult to diagnose. As many as 90% of cases have asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis; it is important to diagnose the situation as early as to detect and make the treatment of other systemic diseses rather than ophthalmological signs.
